Ecosystem

Image
What is an ecosystem? An ecosystem is a community of living organisms in a specific place. The eco refers to a part of the world and system refers to the coordinating units. Ecosystem is a group  of organismic and their physical surroundings and how they interact with each other.    I am going to talk about both biotic and abiotic: 1.Biotic- A group of living things like organisms meaning all natural occurring organisms through the system. This includes Animals, plants and microscopic organisms, these all interact and depend on each other this is referred as a biotic. 2. Abiotic- Abiotic is derived from living organisms. Factors in an environment include things such as sunlight, wind pattern, temperature and precipitation.

Biomes

What is biomes? Biome is the community of plants and animals that occur naturally in an area, they usually share common characteristics specific to one place, many people know biomes as a life zone for animal and plants. It is the biggest geographic biotic unit that includes many biotic units these are named after dominant features of an region examples are deserts, forest or grassland and many more this will help to identify which life that exists in a biome.   Polar region -  Polar region covers the top and bottom of earth at both the north and south poles. Here you will see a lot of cold weather such as snow and ice and it to cold for any tress or green to grow. Subpolar -Subpolar is a region located in the northern hemisphere that is south of polar the winters here are extremely cold and dark however the summers are still chilly but brighter.

Habitats

Image
What is a habitat?  A habitat is somewhere an organism make there home, a habitat will meet all the environmental conditions they will need to survive. such as food, shelter and space to survive and again habitat is both biotic and abiotic factors. Types of habitat are forests, oceans, grasslands and deserts. Each of these have great qualities and inhabitants that support a variety of living forms. Forest-  A forest provides woodland and forest is important for wildlife, an animals will be able to source food, shelter and cover that is becoming increasingly rare.  Ocean- The ocean habitat is divided into two parts coastal and open ocean, it provides fish, seashell and also natural resources. Grassland- Grassland is a place that receives a lot more rain than a deserts but less precipitation than forests. Grasses predominate, and they require less water than other types of vegetation found in forests. Deserts- Deserts are large areas of land with very little or no wat...

Human activity on biomes

Image
Here is how humans affect ecosystems and the wildlife there is both good and dad sides to this that you will find interesting:   Positive impact - Humans have a positive impact because they can look after the land such as reforestation, protecting natural preserves forests to maintain the natural biodiversity. By planting trees this an produce better oxygen and using natural pesticide on farm land instead of using chemicals.  Negative impact -However humans have a negative impact on the environment by pollution, fossil fuels and deforestation. These changes have affected the air quality and caused climate change and in same case unsafe drinking water.  Historical - Years ago biomes where affect by humans because it is known that hunting animals played a big part in extinction in many animals. Present-   Farming and monocropping has renewed the qualities of soil even with established biome, this has changed what can and cant be  grown over a long ...

Types Ecosystem

Here i will talk about ecosystems.  An ecosystem is where plants, animals and landscape work all together to form life, they are all living organisms in one area. Here i am going to talk about both Aquatic Ecosystem and Terrestrial Ecosystem. 1. Aquatic Ecosystems are know as streams, rivers, lakes, sea and wet land some animals relay on water to survive, examples of these are fish, plants or bacteria. Marine Ecosystems - Marine environment is the ocean and sea it is biologically diverse and have a high salinity content. Fresh water Ecosystems- Aquatic freshwater ecosystem is made up of rivers, streams and ponds. Freshwater is always  salinity free.       2. Terrestrial Ecosystem is a land based community these organisms are the interactions of biotic and abiotic components in a given area. Examples of terrestrial ecosystems is forests, grassland and rain- forests.      Forest Ecosystem- forests has both biotic and abiotic components ...

Welcome to my blog about biomes, ecosystems and habitats. Here you will be able to read about our environment and biotic and abiotic factors, This blog will help you learn more about this topic in an easy and interesting way. Each section will talk about something different depending on the heading.
